Geraldo Rivera, a former Fox News star, was recently sacked from “The Five,” the program where he appeared and got into arguments with Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters. Following that, he made the decision to resign from Fox News entirely, stating that he was done with the network and its policies. His resignation was partly influenced by his long-standing conflict with Greg Gutfeld.
Geraldo will now make an appearance as a guest on ABC’s “The View” after leaving Fox News. On Twitter, he declared, “I’m thrilled to be doing TheView Thursday.” I wonder what I’ll be questioned about.
There are several other topics that it could ask him to excite its woke audience about, even though the remark was satirical and they will undoubtedly question him about his time at Fox News and the reasons behind his departure, hoping to get him to criticize the network for not being sufficiently dedicated to “our democracy” and for occasionally defending President Donald Trump.
His support of affirmative action is one example. Geraldo defended his race-based policy in one of his final appearances on Fox News and explained himself
Affirmative action produced me more than fifty years ago. There were no women, Hispanic, or Black reporters on the local news teams in New York when the Ford Foundation and Columbia Journalism School joined forces to integrate them.
He went on to say that he was selected as one of the diverse candidates because the lack of diversity was “shocking.” “And it was shocking,” he said. And that was at 69 years old, in 1968. I was chosen as a result. I was making headlines on behalf of the Young Lords, a group of activists from Puerto Rico who had taken over a few buildings in Spanish Harlem. Additionally, I served as both their negotiator and attorney. And as their spokeswoman, I garnered a lot of media attention.
He might go into further depth on what made his arguments with Gutfeld so heated now that he is no longer employed by Fox News and is not required to debate with Watters and Gutfeld on a daily basis.
But he might not, too. He remarked, “I love Fox and the people at Fox,” as he was leaving Fox News. I always will. I will never allow anyone to keep us apart. I adore you and am incredibly thankful for it. So instead of starting a heated argument, he can just have no grudges and wish to go peacefully. We’ll find out in time.
