We are occasionally surprised by the requests of the younger generation when we read those letters and see that they include more than just toys, clothes, etc. They occasionally astonish us with peculiar wishes. One such tale from 2013 is this one.
Karen Suffern of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, was taken aback by her twins’ answer when she asked them to send a letter to Santa. They are eight years old.
She was shocked to learn that Ryan had written to Santa requesting that he save his sister from being bullied by schoolchildren. Every day, Amber, a third-grader, had to deal with bullies. Karen anticipated her twins’ requests for standard toys, books, clothing, etc.
Ryan had penned in his first desire, “Dear Santa… I no longer want the [remote control] automobile and helicopter that I once desired. Because Amber doesn’t do anything to them, the kids at school continue to make fun of her, which is unfair. “I prayed for them to stop, but God is a jerk and needs your assistance.” “Is giving the gift early prohibited by the rules?” he wrote.
Please disregard the misspellings. He is, after all, a cute youngster.
Amber was a fan of the well-known New York City band Big Time Rush.
“I read it to see what he wanted,” Karen recalled, “even though Ryan told me not to read it when he handed it to me.” “I realized then and thought, ‘Oh, my gosh.'”
The letter went viral all over the world after Karen shared it on her Facebook page for her family and close friends to read. Ryan’s remarks had an impact on many. “It’s both incredible and overwhelming,” Karen remarked.
“Good Morning America” called Karen and her twins after they saw his letter. “Good Morning America” that day complied with one of his requests.
During their conversation with Josh Elliott, the co-anchor of Good Morning America, Amber talked about how she is teased at school but said she had no idea why.
“They say I’m fat,” Amber said to Elliott during the interview. I am foolish. I look bad. I’m also disgusting. I don’t think they’re real.
“You don’t have to do that,” she added when Ryan expressed his desire for children to disturb him rather than his sister. He stepped in and said, “Yes, I do.” Ryan is an energetic, entertaining, and protective brother, according to Amber. She was moved by his letter to Santa because of this.
She didn’t wake up pleading with me to let her stay at home today or yesterday, so I suppose that’s encouraging,” Karen remarked.
This demonstrates how a small, well-motivated letter may have a significant influence.
